This policy explains the nature, scope and purpose of the processing of personal data on the website The Closer's Route (closers-route.netlify.app).

The website is hosted by Netlify, Inc. (USA). When you visit the site, Netlify processes technically necessary data – in particular your IP address, date and time of access, the page requested and browser information – to deliver the website and protect it against abuse. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in secure and stable operation (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Our server functions (unlocking, email sign-up) also run on Netlify.
So you can continue at any time, the website stores your progress and entries locally in your browser's storage ("local storage"): first name, destination, drive, your why, answers from the lessons, your tour list, your email address if provided and – after a purchase – your access reference. This data stays on your device and is not automatically transferred to us. Storing it is technically necessary for the function you requested (Section 165(3) Austrian Telecommunications Act 2021; Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). You can remove it at any time via "Reset progress" or by clearing your browser data.
When you use "Unlock my dream", we send your email address, first name, destination, drive, your why and your language to our email service Kit (ConvertKit LLC, USA). We use this to unlock World 2 and to send you emails about The Closer's Route – such as steps, examples and offers. The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). You can withdraw it at any time via the unsubscribe link in every email or by writing to us. The data is kept until you unsubscribe.
Payment for The Closer's Route Pro is processed by Stripe (Stripe Payments Europe, Ltd., Ireland, and affiliated companies, including in the USA). You enter your payment details directly with Stripe; we don't receive card details, only information such as name, email address, country and payment status. Stripe's privacy policy also applies. The legal basis is the performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) and statutory retention obligations (Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR), generally seven years under Austrian law.
After your purchase, your browser receives an access reference (the Stripe order reference). Our server function uses it to check with Stripe whether the payment is complete and only then delivers the Pro content. So you can open your access on any device, we send your email address, first name, language and personal access link to Kit, which sends you the access email. If you use "Request access by email", we check the email address you enter with Stripe and resend the access email if a purchase exists. The legal basis is the performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
Netlify, Kit and Stripe process some data in the USA. Transfers are based on an adequacy decision of the European Commission (EU-US Data Privacy Framework) where the provider is certified, or on EU Standard Contractual Clauses (Art. 46 GDPR).
The content of The Closer's Route is for general information and education. It does not constitute legal, tax or financial advice and does not guarantee any income.
We only keep data for as long as necessary for the respective purpose or as required by statutory retention obligations: newsletter data until you unsubscribe, purchase data according to statutory periods. On request we delete your data unless we are legally required to retain it.
Under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, objection, and to withdraw consent with effect for the future. If you believe the processing of your data violates data protection law, you can lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority. In Austria this is the Data Protection Authority (Datenschutzbehörde, www.dsb.gv.at).
